Our journey began in the vibrant tapestry of 1993, when, as a young couple working for the state, we found solace and joy in exploring flea markets, craft fairs, and antique stores during our weekends. While navigating the early days of our life together, characterized by financial constraints, we discovered the thrill of the local auction house on Friday nights—a lively spectacle that became a cherished tradition. As our interest in antiques and collectibles deepened, my wife's transition to a role caring for our daughter allowed us to further nurture our passion. Soon, I found myself, alongside my father-in-law, showcasing our discoveries at the Fairgrounds in Raleigh, marking the beginning of our journey into the world of selling.
The evolution continued, blending excitement with hard work, as in 1996, I took to eBay and consignment spaces to share our treasures with a broader audience. The move to the Fayetteville area in 1998 didn't dim our enthusiasm; instead, it provided a new canvas for our antique sales. Balancing the demands of a state job, antique selling, and family life, the journey persisted until my retirement in 2017. Today, with over 2,000 successful eBay sales and countless delighted customers, our story finds its continuity at Blue Bike Antiques and the Rockfish Flea Market. What started as a shared passion has transformed into a legacy, and you can still find me doing what I love best—immersing myself in the world of antiques and collectibles.
